The Marathon requirements and downloadable forms

The Music Marathon is an annual fundraising event sponsored by the Rockland County Music Teachers Guild. This event began in 2001 showcasing students of guild members, who through their performances raise money for charity. The proceeds for the past six years have gone towards the Music Therapy Program at the United Hospice of Rockland.

Our teachers and students have been very enthusiastic over this event and have raised in excess of $75,000. We look forward to continuing our special relationship with UHR again for this year's event.

The Music Marathon dates for this year will be weekend of December 8-9th, 2007 and will again take place at the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, N.Y. We are now in the planning stages and anticipate another successful program.

In order to participate, performers must be students of Guild members. Please take note that teachers of all instruments are welcome, as well as ensemble groups and choirs. Last year over 380 performers entertained for two continuous days. Beautiflul music could be heard throughout the mall to be enjoyed by teachers, parents and shoppers alike.

We sincerely appreciate those teachers who were supportive of this event in the past and extend a warm welcome to new participants. More information will follow in the coming weeks, but in the meantime please put this date on your calendar.

If you would like to lend a helping hand please contact the chairperson for this event. Our 7th Annual Music Marathon is going to be better than ever!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
